Dig deep for Bangers4Ben

Bangers 4ben -blog

Remember Wacky Races on the TV when you were a kid? Well, it had nothing on Bangers4Ben, which iVendi is entering this year for the third time.

Raising money for motor industry charity Ben, it gathers teams from across the sector on a madcap rally to a mystery location on the continent and back. Starting on Friday 5th October, a four day route will take in Reims, Stuttgart, Bruges and more.

Each team has to buy a banger with a maximum price of £750 and transform it using what can only be described as the automotive equivalent of fancy dress. This year, iVendi will be entering two cars – piloted by Team A of Phil Harding & Russell White and Team B of Ryan Corner & Steve Lewis – provided with the help of leading car supermarket Carbase.

In the past, iVendi’s car decoration themes have included Tron and Lego Racers.  This year’s is being kept very much under wraps but will be announced on this blog in due course. A big surprise is promised.

Phil Harding, Marketing & Partnerships Manager at iVendi, said: “There is no other motor industry event quite like Bangers4Ben. It can be hard to communicate the charm of a load of industry people driving across Europe in hastily customised cars that really are in a questionable condition to take such a trip – but I can tell you it is huge fun and that interesting things, good and bad, happen every mile of the way.”

Last year, Bangers4Ben raised a terrific total of £59,000 and each team is being tasked with a target of at least £2,000.

Phil Harding added: “Please click on the link below and help us raise as much money as possible. It takes literally seconds to donate and Ben is unquestionably a very worthy cause.”
